LIGHT WINDOWS began in May 2020 as the pandemic shut down the world. Over 90 projects across 18 countries (including Antarctica) connected isolated artists and closed venues into public space.

Over the weekend of May 14-16, 2021 artists and the public are invited to light up their windows to celebrate creativity and connection.

LIGHT WINDOWS began in New York City as closed venues were boarded up. Each project is beacons of inspiration that brings art to hyper local audiences and forges international community. 

LIGHT WINDOWS is an exhibition for neighbors, a thank you to essential workers and a tribute to those who we have lost to COVID-19.  Explore the maps of artworks, and get creative lighting up your window over the weekend in May.
